Over the weekend my family and I saw the movie Chef for Father’s Day. In the movie, John Favreau, makes a drool worthy grilled cheese. You see the melty gooey cheese and hear the crunch of the toasty bread. I just needed to make a grilled cheese after this movie. I’m going to boast for a tiny second, man oh man… it is fantastic. I had to do everything in my power to not have seconds, thirds, and fourths.
Dangerously Good Grilled Cheese (serves 2)
2 tbsp butter, softened
1/2 tsp minced garlic
4 slices grainy/nutty bread (I used Trader Joe’s California Style Sprouted Wheat)
white cheddar cheese, sliced
Mix softened butter and garlic together. Heat a large skillet over medium low heat.
Put white cheddar cheese slices on one slice of bread and turkey slices on the other. Close the sandwich and spread garlic butter on the outside of the bread closest to the cheese. Put butter side down in the pan. Spread the top slice of bread with more garlic butter. Cook each side until their golden brown and the cheese is completely melted. Enjoy and savor every single bite!
